New law for renewable energy
The new Renewable Energy Law is finalizing its Government procedure before being sent to the Parliament for first reading
This law represents a strategic step forward, as renewable energy sources are regulated for the first time in a dedicated law (Lex specialist), separate from other energy laws—following the example of many countries in the region and the EU. The reason is clear: renewable energy sources (RES) constitute a complex but increasingly vital and dynamic field, with significant impacts on the economy, ecology, and energy independence. This dedicated law has been prepared in accordance with the Government’s 2025 program and aims to provide a clear and comprehensive regulatory framework that addresses all aspects related to renewable energy sources (RES)—from setting targets and support measures to specific mechanisms for financial stability and consumer protection.
The law is fully aligned with the latest changes in European energy legislation, particularly the RED III Directive, which regulates the promotion and use of renewable energy sources and is binding for member states of the Energy Community.
